The following terms are important to understand the whole use case.
Vehicle location | Geographical location where the used vehicle is located at the beginning of the route or must be located at the end of the route. |
Customer location, Depot location | Geographical location where pickup or delivery needs to be carried out or a vehicle is located. See Locations, Transport and Stops for more details. |
Pickup, Delivery | A certain service action to be performed at a location as requested by a transport (pickup and delivery of transport goods). |
Transport | An order to transport goods from one location to another. See Locations, Transport and Stops for more details. |
Route | A route is a sequence of stops and rides in between starting at the vehicle start location and ending at the vehicle end location. A route subdivides into trips. See Routes and Trips for more details. |
Trip | A trip is a subsequence of a route. A trip is a sequence of stops and rides between locations, like a route. There is always at least one trip per route, and a trip comprises at least two stops. See Routes and Trips for more details. |
Stop | Stops group subsequent pickup and/or deliveries within a trip that are carried out at the same location. See Locations, Transport and Stops for more details. |
Way | Ride between two successive locations of a route. The WayReport contains information about the way of the previous location to the current location. |
